step 2 - complete volunteer packet

After contacting us, we will send you a volunteer packet, which will include a volunteer application and forms to complete criminal records and child abuse/neglect registry background checks.  Please complete the application and all background check forms in their entirety and return them our office following the directions provided.  You will not be responsible for any fees associated with the background checks.  CASA of Eastern Kentucky will cover the cost of all background checks.

Step 3 – Screening/Initial Interview

After you have returned the application and background check forms, the application and background checks will be processed by our program director.  References listed on the application will be verified.  After the screening process has been completed, you will be contacted for an in-person interview with the program director.

Step 4 – Training

Following the interview, you will be required to complete a 33-hour pre-service training, which includes court room observations.

Step 5 – Final Interview

After completing all pre-service training sessions and court room observations, you will be required to complete a final interview the with the program director.

Step 6 – Induction

After successful completion of steps 1-5, you will be sworn-in by the family court judge and be available to accept a case.
